Marcus left for Peru on Wednesday.  All the big feelings came out for that event!  How did we arrive to this day already?  Life will never be the same as our kids are growing up and moving out. We're going to miss this guy but know he's out to have a grand adventure on the Lord's errand. It's the first time these 2 will be separated for more than a few days. And just like that, he was off. So proud of you Marcus!  I know you'll do amazing things for the people of Peru!

HEY GUYS! It honestly feels a little weird  to be the one to finally be sending these emails but I honestly I’m excited to get started! And sorry to all those people I said I would do an audio to… my MTC they won’t let me. This week was oh so long… little did I know that sitting behind a screen for 10 hrs a day is killer to the glutes. But it will be but a small moment and I know that, but I’m sure I’ve picked up at least 20 pounds so I’ll be feeling with the consequences a little longer than that. Anyways this week really has been a week to remember. My español is moving along a whole lot faster than it did while I learned in school. I’ve learned more Spanish the first 30 min than I did in 3 years. To be fair I never actually learned a whole lot in school so it’s not much of a comparison. Our district all has a little background in Spanish and all of us are picking it up really fast. There are two Sisters in my district and 6 Elders and all of us have just clicked really well. My ...

Mission Farewell

Image
Marcus and Carter had their mission farewell yesterday!  SO many friends and family were there to support and are truly blessed! Afterwards, we had a luncheon with wall-to-wall guests at our house.  We served baked oatmeal (one of their favorites!). They have such wonderful friends!  I know Marcus and Carter wouldn't be where they are today without these amazing influences in their lives! The countdown is on before they're officially full-time missionaries!!

Friends' Mission Calls

Called to Serve

Image
Carter and Marcus recently opened their mission calls for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints! Carter has been called to serve in the Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire Mission (Ivory Coast, West Africa), where he will preach the gospel in French. Marcus will serve in the Trujillo, Peru Mission, teaching in Spanish. Carter departs at the end of July, and Marcus follows in early August. Everyone got to guess where they'd be called.  Super fun! A lot of friends and family joined online too. We were overcome by all the love and support we received that night!  So many wonderful family and friends who helped us get here.  We couldn't have done it without them! We couldn’t be more thrilled! The love and support from our incredible family and friends has meant the world as they prepare for this new chapter!
